I wanted to get this remaster/redux out earlier in the year, so that it would be available at the same time that the snowdrops were blooming. Hopefully, though, some of you are still in the late winter to early spring mood! Snowdrops are truly a harbinger of winter's end. They're such a beautiful, delicate plant, with almost no scent- although there is one, if you get your face in close enough on one of the last days before they start to wilt. As with most of my nature inspired pieces, I primarily used instruments that reminded me of this particular plant. :) Does this song sound slow, cold and wintry to you? Does it remind you of something lovely and unexpected bursting amid dry leaves?

I can still remember the first time I discovered a snowdrop in my garden when I was a child. We didn't even know there were any planted near the property; I only found out about them because I explored the hidden little paths that my parents hadn't found. That winter, I found a treasure among treasures! I had never seen a snowdrop before that point (although I had heard of them from my Gran.) Still, as soon as I saw it, I somehow knew exactly what it was! I said to myself "This must be what a snowdrop looks like!" I came home and proudly presented one of them to my mother, who confirmed what I had been hoping. There really couldn't be a lovelier name for such a thing. Snowdrops!
