This is a part of an 8 track orchestral suite called "The Seasons", which I composed when I was 16. The album is designed to loop and is highly atmospheric. Each song either focuses on one season at a time, or on the transition phases between them. This particular track focuses of the shift between autumn and winter.

Though summer is the brightest and warmest season, in some ways, it is a very dark time indeed. Muggy, yet parched, with long shadows and unseen creatures lurking and whispering in the deepest forests, high summer is a saturated and mysterious time of year.

In this track, I imagined my bare feet upon hot, dry grasses in the meadow, the air thick with the scent of poppies, resins and cracked bark. The air and sun are as one; a wispy, golden vapor which scorches and soothes simultaneously. I imagined lingering in a thick, dark wood in the evening after an unbearably hot day, listening to the distant music of birds and insects while gazing at a balmy moon.
